Just in time for Derby: First Harvest Strawberries from Raising Hope Organic Farm

We’ve been nurturing these strawberry plants for close to a year. Yesterday Ramsi was able to pick a few for our Derby Weekend dessert special: flour less chocolate torte, peanut butter sorbet, walnut powder, strawberry jam and roasted walnut oil. We couldn’t wait to share these with you!

We also have a ton of arugula in from the farm right now, which we are featuring in this dish: cocoa dusted scallops, plantain mousse, arugula chimichurri, tostones (twice fried green plantains) and garnished with arugula microgreens. Happy Derby!

We know our guests will be thrilled that the city passed an ordinance last week allowing restaurants to sell alcohol at 10 am on Sunday! We hear you lament every Sunday, having to wait until 1 pm to order a mimosa. We are chilling the bubbles right now getting ready for you! Try one of our house squeezed juices…watermelon, grapefruit, pineapple, raspberry instead of the traditional orange! And our Blood Mary’s are spiced up with our house made harissa, if you prefer! Enjoy!

Organic Sunflower Sprout, Watermelon and Feta salad is back!

We grow these super nutritious sunflower sprouts at Raising Hope Organic Farm! Full of iron and chlorophyll, they are crunchy and mild in flavor which makes them a perfect balance to the juicy watermelon and salty feta cheese. A lemon ginger vinaigrette ties them together. Candied ginger and crushed pink peppercorns surprise with sweet spice.

Baby Dinosaur Kale Salad from Raising Hope Organic Farm

We have just harvested some gorgeous Baby Dinosaur (aka Tuscan) Kale from the farm. We will be serving it in a garlic lemon sesame vinaigrette with green apples and blackberries. Garnished with sesame seeds, this salad is completely raw and insanely fresh!

One of Louisville’s best known jazz pianists, Pete Peterson, performs here every Friday and Saturday night starting at 8 pm with soft jazz. Later in the evening, various other local musicians join Pete after they finish their “gigs” around town and stir up the energy level to full heat in the dining room!
